VBS--Jour Un - 10:22 a.m.

I'm working at VBS this week. Cheryl Palmer and I are working with the oldest kids for the second year in a row, along with Ray Manley (Ray-man) and Amanda, someone I just met yesterday.

I didn't get a chance to sign up this year due to my own laziness ("Oh, I'll sign up next week" syndrome), but when I talked to the VBS director, I found up that someone had already volunteered me, based on my years of VBS experience. When I asked last week if I could still help, I found out that someone had already volunteered me. [blinks] "So that means you have to be there," Courtney T. (guy Courtney) said.

Here are a few quips from yesterday.

Cheryl: "What did the wise men give Jesus?"
Matthew C: "Murder! ...Wait. It starts with M."

Ray-man: "Real men wear pink." (Our VBS shirts are bright pink.)

Sheila (from Tune-up Station [Music]) : "I had the hardest time remembering [Brittany's] name, but then I thought of Britney Spears.

Sandi (from Recreation) : "Do you see Jeffrey's head? Do you see Daniel's tail?" [The entire game was based on coin flips.]

Daniel (Recreation) : "My tail is getting lonely!"

And of course, every year there's the thing where the kids put their name in a drawing every time they bring a new visitor, and the money competition. And every year, Jeffrey and I ask (almost on cue, but it's not) whether workers can help, too. So yes, my spare change this week is going in the bucket labeled GIRLS.

To Do:
1. Thank-you notes
2. VBS
3. Health Department for health forms (wow!)
4. French summer seminar
5. Read!
