Current status of final exams: 50% down, 50% to go

Current status of senior project:

  • Almost finished with the hour limits
  • Nowhere near finished with the story itself
  • Haven't even started the audiovisual component
  • Haven't finished all the stuff that goes in the portfolio
  • Speaking of a portfolio, I don't even have a binder for the portfolio
  • Haven't written speech for presentation

I think that gives you an idea.

When I turned in my Spanish final (about five minutes ago), Dra. Mason showed me where she had calculated my grade. "Not to worry," she said. "This is what your grade would be if you made a zero on the final."

I looked at the paper. It was a 76.3. I laughed. I guess I had a right to, considering that the final counts 20% of the semester average. Since I think I did a decent job on the final, I think my A is safe. Yeah, just sort of kind of.

I also got my history paper back today. I got a 94. "There weren't too many bad papers, but A's were rare," Dr. Veve told me when he gave me mine. Most of mine were grammar errors, believe it or not. Since I was still writing English papers while writing this, I was still stuck in the eternal present tense that exists when you write about a piece of fiction...which is where almost all of my errors took place. Ah well. My A is safe since I got an A on the final exam.

Ah, sweet relief... I can taste it now, even without taste buds [hey, that's what happens with a sinus infection during finals week!], and it does taste good. Even if it is temporary.

    To Do:

    7. The good, the bad, and the worse
