Thursday--almost got busted... - 10:17 p.m.
Well, I haven't written for a while. Dr. Nbook is suffering, too. But so much has happened since Wednesday that I'll be lucky to write about it in one night. (That's why there's cut and paste. *teehee*)
First of all, we got to leave early after finals Thursday and Friday. On Thursday I had science and Hades finals. After taking those (I made a 100 on Hades final! Go Sushi!), I met Robert and talked to him for a while, and we then decided to go to the library to find some of the books. I had the summer reading list. This year we have to read Le Morte d'Arthur by Thomas Malory, Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton, and 1984 by George Orwell. So we decided to go around and find those. I also had the normal AP list, and Robert had made this list of books he wants to read. He added the ones I had to read along with several others. I think there are about 100 books in the list. And there are 132 on the AP list. I counted one day. Don't I feel special?
So after we went home for a bit, we talked with Mom and Grandmother for what felt like forever (in reality, it was only an hour), and then we left. After we found what we were looking for (He also recommended a Sharon Creech book, Chasing Redbird. I got it and read it in two days. As far as that goes, I recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. It's an excellent book. So is Walk Two Moons by the same author. I just love the way Creech writes. If I become half as good as her I'll be extremely happy.) Then we decided to make an impromptu trip to Books-a-Million. Even though I hadn't already told Mom about it (she is extremely strict, let me tell you), I told him we could go. So we went. He was looking for the Latin book, and he had the ISBN number so they could order it if they didn't have it. Well, what do you know. The one time he comes prepared to order, they have it. Cool. So we started looking around everywhere else in the store. We buried ourselves in the French stuff for a while (and practically convinced this one old lady we worked there--that was funny), and then he told me that there was this one section full of books about sex. Well. Isn't that fascinating? I told him that I could see at any given time, a crowd of teenage guys over there, looking at the books. After a while we noticed that it was getting late (remember, we were only supposed to be going to the library!), so we tried to leave, but kept looking at more books. Finally we actually had to concentrate on leaving, just so we could get home. I figured Mom would be peeved, and she was--I just didn't get the full blow of it until later. So he stayed around the house a little longer. I started to try to teach him Latin but didn't get too far. After sharing DBID moments, we were just laughing too hard. Then we went to Grandmother's, where we were looking at her pictures, eating popcorn, and watching Spongebob. Isn't that just spiffy? =)
So after he left (we were going out to eat), I got home, typed my paper on a theme of Silas Marner, and went to bed. Lovely.
Honestly, they just don't want me to have a social life. My parents, that is. What is with them??? I want to ask them that because it's perfectly healthy for us teens to actually have a life. Oh, now I get it. They just want me to stay home so I can "study to be the best at everything and be a roboslave". Ha. That's all they want from me--to be perfect. I remember the awards ceremony. I was actually proud of my awards and proud of Polly for getting all her awards. But not Mom. She told me that "I needed to improve in the math and geography and stuff". Well, the geography isn't going to help me now--I'm done with that. And I'm done with geometry, so what good is she doing bringing it up now? She expects me to be perfect.
Her expectations are waaaaay off-par. If only she could see that for herself.
